I never thought I'd be a geezer myself one day and must admit that these 'senior' mysteries are alot more entertaining now than when I was younger, it's much easier to sympathize with the problems of ageing while trying to remain relevant in the world. I really enjoyed reading this book. The characters are interesting and well developed. You can imagine you are there with them.
Excellent mystery as all Jake Russo mysteries are. Characters are so lifelike, it is as if cc you were there in person. Bravo, Phil Edwards, excellent work.
Jake Russo and his funny sidekick,Gary make a wonderful team. I'm a big fan of Phil Edwards. He has a solid writing style.
I'm a big Jake Russo fan. This series offers a mindless good time. It's been entertaining to wile away a few hours with Jake and his sidekick Gary.
This time they end up in New York to write a feature on a new musical based on the comic book series that used to obsess our slimmed-down hero. Of course, there's a murder in the cast, and the not-so-dynamic duo set out to solve it.
It's good fun, but not my favorite in the series by any stretch. The Show Must Go Wrong is slightly reminiscent of Simon Brett's Charles Paris series, but not quite as good.
If you read the other books in the serries, know the characters, read on. Not the strongest of the 5 books, but the characters and humor grow better.
Sorry, but there is a good story in there somewhere but I think the author should stick to grocery cart pushing. Very poorly edited.
